My first visit today and I am in love. I enjoy the café/diner atmosphere. Co-owner (with her brother) Leslie, is charming, friendly, knows her stuff. And let us not forget - colorful oilcloth tablecloths - a big plus. I'll be back soon for the whole experience
— Janie A.
Food is simply but tasty and the owners are very friendly. I recommend this for breakfast or lunch. The decor is a 1960s & quirky, which makes this place unique in Marin, more like one would have found in the Haight decades ago. I recommend this restaurant highly! Barbara Monty

This place is great. We have never had to wait for a table, the owners are awesome and friendly, and the food is good. We love to come here with our dog and eat outside. We come here at least once a month and have always had a nice experience.
— Ellen F.
I love the weekend brunch where they have ukelele players and sometimes Hawaiian dancers. Fun atmosphere. Great food.
— Carolyn G.
Never had so much fun at breakfast! Michael has created a unique almost-anything-goes environment that is a sweet feast for the eyes that comes close to his feast for the mouth. Great food, great company, just plain GREAT. I was in town for a week and never thought of eating anywhere else.
— Cara M.
This place has a comprehensive menu of very quality food. It seems like they put an emphasis on local and fresh ingredients and don't skimp on anything.

The building has a quirky charm, and the staff are courteous and friendly. I often visit Bogies on the weekend and get the Dungeness Crab Benedict.

On Saturday I went to Bogies Bistro for the first time, and was pleasantly surprised; they now serve authentic french cuisine on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. The chef, Luc, is talented and friendly.

I recommend Bogies to anyone who wants to enjoy a unique dining experience with very quality food.

We hadn't been to Bogie's for about a year, having moved from Novato to Pleasanton. Now we are moving back to Marin and were in San Rafael yesterday morning so we stopped in for breakfast.

Happily, we were delighted to see that nothing has changed. Leslie greeted us like long lost family as we entered the restaurant just like she always did. We ordered, a Greek omelet for me and a Blackstone Benedict for my wife. As we expected, the eggs were great. But let me say that the potatoes were even better. For a long time now, we have compared Bogie's potatoes to every other breakfast restaurant's potatoes anywhere we have been. They are simply better than any others. Well seasoned with onion, peppers and cut small so they are cooked through, they are really good.

Glad we will be back in the neighborhood to enjoy going back to Bogie's again and again.

My friend and I decided to go camping this weekend up here, and in the morning for breakfast we discovered this place. We drove past it, and it looked very cute so we decided to try it out. We walked in and were amazed at the customer service and the made to order food. The bread was so soft, and the salad was terrific. Everything here tasted fantastic! We kept commenting on the amazing atmosphere and our super lovable waitress. Everyone was super friendly and very inviting. Definitely recommending and coming back here again!
— Roslyn M.
This is a eclectic little joint ran by a charismatic couple. Although it was our first visit we were treated as regulars. We ate the eggs Benedict special and the farmers skillet. Both were on point. The ambience, food and service were exceptional. We would definitely return. A perfect DDD spot.
— Norm S,
This place is amazing! The most wholesome and nourishing breakfast I've had in Marin or at any restaurant for that matter. Mostly Organic, and feels home made.
Michael is an awesome host and the atmosphere always lights up my day.
— Tobin G.
Bogies is a classic cafe that makes the most wonderful food. My mouth waters thinking about the chicken salad sandwich with pesto, EVERYDAY.
— Easton C.
Great food, ambiance and service. Super friendly staff! I always order breakfast, which is killer! Good parking.
— Eric P.
The restaurant is small. Blink and you would miss it. Don't blink because if you do you will be missing out on some delicious organic homestyle food. The meals are very proportional for what you pay which is very reasonable. I had a classic eggs, bacon, toast, and home fries. The eggs I ordered came perfectly over easy. The toast was not burnt. The bacon was thick, flavorful and crispy. The best part was the home fries. They were finished off with fresh diced tomatoes and bell pepper. My husband ordered the Ruben. He NEVER orders Rubens since usually the meat is stringy or fatty or tough. This Pastrami was full of flavor and tender and easy to bite through without your sandwhich falling apart. The coffee was hot and fresh. This place has been open since the 70's so you gotta figure the owner is doing SOMETHING right! We will definately go here again!

Went back to Bogie's after a long time that I haven't been there. My husband and I are trying most breakfast places in Marin, and we were very excited to rediscover Bogie's!
My husband order OJ, which he commented, was excellent.
We had a bit of a hard time, choosing between all the tempting, creative options on the menu, and the daily specials.
The omelets were cooked to perfection, and the potatoes were divine! The service is very friendly and efficient, and there are a lot of fun things on the walls and ceiling to look at while you wait. The menu is a fun read too....
Over all, a very good dining experience. We are looking forward to going back!
— Idit O.
So good. I had the Farmers Scramble and it was incredible, way too much food in the best way possible. Adorable, super kitschy decor, really friendly service! Everybody was really happy with their food, and it came out quickly.

It was my first time here and I'll definitely be back. I can't wait to bring people. They only take cash, but there's an ATM in the front so it's no great inconvenience.
— Elizabeth C.
Great food! My son exclaimed, "The best food I've ever had!" Wonderful people. We would definitely stop here again if we were in town.
— Adriana C.
Quick stop to go. Bacon & eggs cooked perfect. Order ready & waiting. Super friendly staff. Can't wait to try the Reuben!!I'll be back!!
— Charlie G.
I just had the best Rueben I've ever had here! Live musicians playing in the background, kind and generous service, quaint and local business, makes this best place near the civic center to dine. Well done.
— Allen C.
That Michael is a character. This is exactly the type of place we were looking for. The antidote to Denny's and IHOP. French toast and eggs Benedict were both excellent. And, don't forget to get your selfie with Mr. Caterpillar
— Dru M.
This place was amazing.

Pleasant little surprise. The decor in Bogies is unique and whimsical. I found myself staring at the game boards and stuffed animals hanging from the ceiling and the giant Caterpillar next to the door. I loved it. The menu was fun to read with its great descriptions of plates.

We couldn't decide what to get as it all looked and sounded delicious. I ended up with an omelette and my boyfriend ordered the pancakes. Everything was delicious. A perfect blend of spices and all organic food. I hope to come back again.
— Carrie G.
The service was very good. The food was very tasty. All food is organic and locally grown. The specials sounded good. They are known for eggs Benedict. We ordered Ham & eggs and chicken sausage scramble.
— Suzy B.
This place is not for everyone, in fact stay away. This is a joint, with excentric menu items and service full of personality. If you want bland everything go elsewhere. I've been going here for years and it's my neighborhood favorite. The owner Michael is always here and is often churning out new things to try and still banging out old favorites. Bogie's reminds me of living in the East Bay where the owner is the chef and you can yell at him about the Giants sucking or the bacon being burnt. He'll yell back about the Giants and he will do good by your bacon.
You have to love a cafe that makes it's living stuck between a bail bonds a gas station and a barber shop that is never ever open.
— Todd J.
San Rafael's hidden treat! Literally hidden! It's tucked behind a little salon (I think?) Next to a gas station and bail bonds. I was shown this spot by a friend last year and it's my go-to any time I'm driving through for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. Eveything I have ordered was really good. Their specials are my favorite!

There's always a man playing music while you dine, it's so peaceful and relaxing! The staff is attentive, sweet, and right there when you need them. I don't remember the gentleman's man that is always working, but he's great! You'll love this spot! The food is Yelp worthy!

Wow, quick stop for breakfast on the way to a meeting and hit a gold mine. Very accommodating, comfortable and full of character! If the owner offers his favorite (eggs Benedict), take it! It's awesome...
